Ingredients

  • 1 package of Hand + Heart Gluten Free Bread & Pizza Mix
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110ºF)
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • yeast packets (included)

 

EGG-FREE OPTION: omit eggs and increase water by 1/4 cups for a total of 1 3/4 cups water.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle, add the entire package of Hand + Heart Gluten Free Bread & Pizza Mix, sugar and yeast packets.  Whisk to combine.
  2. Add warm water, olive oil, vinegar and eggs (if using) into the bowl and beat on low for a few seconds until liquid is absorbed into the flour.  Increase speed to medium-high and beat for 3 minutes.  The dough will be wet, smooth and sticky.
  3. Gather into a ball and cover the bowl with plastic wrap.  Rest for 1 hour.
  4. Time Saving Tip:  Place the prepared dough immediately in the refrigerator and let it rest for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  5. Once dough has risen, divide dough into 2 or 3 equal portions.
  6. Add 1 tablespoon of oil to (2 to 3) pizza pans or 9×13 inch baking pans and spread oil with your fingers.
  7. With heavily oiled hands, take the divided dough and flatten dough into each pan.  Press the dough evenly onto the baking pan.  You can also use a plastic wrap to help with spreading the dough to the pans.  Leave about 1 inch of the edges thicker for a more authentic pizza look.
  8. Place plastic wrap on top of the pizza dough and place in a warm area to rest for 20 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 475ºF.
  10. Remove plastic wrap and pre-bake pizza dough for 10 minutes until edges start to brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and add desired toppings. Bake for an additional 15 – 20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and toppings are cooked.
